The Splat! launch was conceived of and launched in four days to bring NFT commentary to the defacement of a Van Gogh in the National Gallery. I wrote the smart contract as well as the server-side code which requested the NFT's art you were going to splat from OpenSea, it then layered an additional image on top with a frame and a cartoon tomato can splat, those two images were sent into HTMLCSSToImage.com to create an image from a small amount of HTML and CSS. After receiving the image back from the service, we updated the metadata on our server and force pushed an update to the listing on OpenSea. Art by Danny Cole of Creature World.
